This is a colorful twist on hummus, thanks to turmeric. All you need is 5 minutes and a handful of ingredients. You can serve it with optional roasted chickpeas. Enjoy it as a snack or as a spread in sandwiches, wraps and more.

How to Make Golden Hummus:

Here are the steps to make a simple golden hummus at home.

  1. Roast the Optional Curried Chickpeas

If you would like to serve this hummus with roasted curried chickpeas, start by preheating the oven to 400ºF. Toss the curry powder, garam masala, garlic powder and salt in a medium bowl with the chickpeas and olive oil until well coated. Spread on a baking sheet and bake for 35-40 minutes or until crispy and golden.

  2. Prepare the Hummus

Add canned chickpeas, garlic, tahini, lemon juice, water and olive oil to a food processor and process until smooth. Add the turmeric, cumin and salt and process until it turns a bright yellow color. Add more water if the hummus is too dry.

  3. Serve

Serve the hummus with roasted chickpeas or other toppings of choice.
