Hi! It’s been a while. I can’t believe this is my first post since May. This break from posting was not at all intentional and I continued working throughout this time, focusing on nutrition counselling and updating old recipes. Life and work have been busy in recent months, which drained my energy and motivation to create. Life will continue to be busy for many more months, but I’m looking forward to things slowing down, even just a little, in the New Year. With that said, I thought it was about time that I share what I’ve been up to and what’s to come. I promise I’ll be back to sharing recipes soon!

Life Lately

2026 has been a busy year full of travels and life changes. Here’s what I’ve been up to:

  • I traveled to northern BC in Nisga’a Valley (for my part-time work alongside private practice). I always love getting the chance to spend time in the north.
  • We had family and friends visiting from out of town on four occasions. We always take this as an opportunity to explore more of Vancouver and surrounding areas. This time, we traveled to Vancouver Island (Victoria, Tofino and Nanaimo) and the Sunshine Coast. We also hiked the Grouse Grind for the first time!
  • We did a few weekend trips to the Okanagan and enjoyed some paddleboarding throughout the summer.
  • We traveled to New Brunswick a couple of times (more on that later).
  • We spent a week in Toronto for my partner’s work. I got to enjoy a lot of delicious vegan food and spend time with a friend in the area.
  • We did an almost month-long road trip from Vancouver to the Yukon. I’m working on a post summarizing the experience!
  • I finally upgraded my camera after almost 12 years and I’m having fun practicing and improving my editing skills.
  • Throughout this busy year, I’ve continued experiencing health issues, which led to a clinical diagnosis of endometriosis. This is something I’ve been suspecting for a long time and have pushed to get support with for over ten years. It’s what led me to focus on endometriosis and IBS in my practice. I also wrote about nutrition strategies for endometriosis and IBS earlier this year if you’d like to learn more.
  • And finally, the biggest update…

We’re Moving!

This is a very bittersweet update. After over eight years living in British Columbia (both the Okanagan and Vancouver), my partner and I made the decision to move back to New Brunswick.

This is one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make. British Columbia will always be my home at heart. The past eight years have been the happiest of my life. It’s where I spent most of my adult life, where I found work that brings me so much joy, and a place where I learned so much about myself. The mountains, lush forests and turquoise waters in this province have become my happy place.

So why the move? Quite simply, British Columbia is an expensive province. While we could continue to make it work, we were starting to crave more stability. We’ve been dreaming of owning a home with more space and a slower, quieter life. We also wanted more financial flexibility to travel. And most importantly, we’re excited to be closer to friends and family after being away for more than 8 years.

While I’m sad to leave BC, our move will bring many positives. As I said, it will bring us closer to friends and family. It’s giving us the opportunity to own a home that best fits out wants and needs. We’re trading a small condo for a lovely bungalow that has room for both of us to work comfortably from home and to host loved ones. We’re trading long commutes and busy streets for a quiet home in the country, surrounded by trees. While I will miss the convenience and vegan options available in a big city, I am looking forward to having a home that’s quiet and comfortable.

And so, New Brunswick will be our home base for now. It’s not the end of our time in British Columbia though! Thanks to our work (plus lower cost of living in New Brunswick), we are planning to divide our time between both provinces. We’re hoping to spend many weeks, if not months, each year in different parts of British Columbia. I’m incredibly grateful to be in a position where dividing our time between the two provinces is a possibility. We don’t know what the future holds, but that’s the plan for now.

What’s next? We’re driving across Canada in December and settling into our new home just in time for the holidays. We’re spending time in the Okanagan and the Canadian Rockies along the way, just soaking up a bit more time in some of our favorite spots before making our way out East. I’m just hoping the weather cooperates!

I’ll likely share more of our home and travels on Instagram stories if you want to follow along. 🙂

Life in New Brunswick

Starting in January, you’ll find me working remotely in my cozy New Brunswick office, trying to romanticize the maritimes and exploring more of the East Coast. I’m particularly excited to explore more of Quebec and Newfoundland!

For those familiar with New Brunswick, we will be based in the countryside, outside of the Saint John area. We lived in that city during my dietetic internship and I loved the local parks and proximity to the Fundy coast. We both wanted to live somewhere different from where we grew up, while being close to our family and friends in the Moncton area. The Saint John area also has more hills, rocky terrain and water access, characteristics that we greatly appreciate after living on the West Coast.

Finally, we’re moving into a newer build with unfortunately very little personality. I’m hoping to spend the next months and years making this home our own. I’ll try to share a little more on socials along the way.

That brings us to the next update…

Work Updates

I’m very happy to share that my work will continue as usual. I’m staying with CAYA Health Centre, for which I’m incredibly grateful. Starting in December, all of my availability will be virtual and due to the time difference, there will be a small change to my hours. My current plan is to offer afternoon and early evening appointments on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. My practice was and will remain open to all those living in British Columbia and New Brunswick.

If you’re interested in working with me in person, I have a few spots left in November. Whether you’d like to book an in-person or virtual appointment, you can learn more about my approach, areas of practice, or book an appointment through CAYA Health Centre. I would be happy to help!

The Next Few Months

I will continue to be a bit quieter around here for the next several months. November will be busy with work and packing, then December and January will be spent traveling, enjoying the holidays with family and settling into our new home.

I do have a few posts in mind during that time. I’ve been working on a post sharing the details and photos from our road trip to the Yukon. I also have a cookie recipe and possibly a soup recipe coming up. I’m hoping to post more regularly once we’re settled at home in the New Year. My goal is once per month, including more nutrition and recipe content. We’ll see how that goes.

And with that said, those are the updates that I have for you today. Thank you for being here and for reading through my life updates and ramblings. I hope that you will enjoy the recipes and nutrition content to come!

Now it’s time to soak up as much of BC as we can before our move next month. 🙂
