  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 cup canned red kidney beans
  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Instructions

  • Add the walnuts to a food processor and pulse until it forms large crumbs.

  • Form 4 patties with the mixture using your hands. Lightly brush with oil.
  • Heat the grill over medium heat or heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side.
  • Serve in a hamburger bun with toppings of choice.
